Leihan earned his B.Eng. degree from the University of Macau in 2021 and his M.Sc. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2022. He received his Ph.D. in Smart Manufacturing from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hong Kong and HKUST-GZ. His research focuses on the design and additive manufacturing of architected materials.

Chenyi earned her B. Eng degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Zhengzhou University. Her research focuses on the fabrication of flexible wearable devices and and reconfigurable hydrophicility. Also, she has lots of hobbies, including traveling, photography and electronic games, etc.

Hanzhang obtained his B.E. degree in Jilin university and joined our group in 2023. He has authored/co-authored 1 peer-reviewed journal papers and applied 4 patents. His research interests include robotics, micro-nano system, electronics, physics in engineering and 3D printing techniques. He is also one of the key member working on the knowledge transfer project related to ceramic 3D printing. His hobbies includes sport, hip-pop or other music.

Lujiang obtained his M.S degree in Xiamen University and B.E. degree in Shandong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on robotic metamaterial and robot scientist for new material development, robot automation and so on. His hobbies include traveling, sport, city walk. He is supervised by Prof. Tongyi Zhang and co-supervised by Prof. Huachen Cui.

Yuntai is a PhD student majoring in Materials Science at Northwestern Polytechnical University, then joined the group as a visiting student in July 2023. He has authored/co-authored 5 peer-reviewed journal papers with an average IF > 10. His current research interests includes high-precision 3D printing technology, synthesis and application of multi-functional composite materials.

Zhanpeng obtained his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California and his B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation from Guangzhou University. His current research includes robotics, 3D printing techniques, mechanical simulation of 3D printed composite structures.

Lingchuan obtained his B.E. degree in Jilin university. He has authored/co-authored 1 peer-reviewed journal papers and applied 2 patents. His research interests include multi-material additive manufacturing, automated additive manufacturing system, 4D printing. His hobbies include movies, table tennis, and badminton.

Kai Chen obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering mechanics from the Department of Mechanics at Jilin University. His current research includes underwater robot and piezoelectric actuation.

Yingjun obtained his professional M.S. degree from Xiamen University. He has authored/co-authored 31 peer-reviewed journal papers, including 4 as first author, and has applied for 16 patents. His current research interests include ceramic additive manufacturing and ultrafast high-temperature sintering.

Zirui HUANG received her MPhil degree in Internet of Things from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and her BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from Fuzhou University. Her research interests include healthcare sensing, wearable ultrasonics, and 3D-printed micro-robot. She is supervised by Prof. Kaishun WU and Prof. Huachen CUI.

Yiyu received his M.S. degree in South China Normal University and his B.Eng. degree in Guangdong University of Technology. His research focuses on micro- and nanoscale 3D printing, including the development of high-resolution optical 3D printing systems and processes, as well as the fabrication and integration of micro-optical devices.

Xinyu Chen is a PhD student in our group. She earned her B. Eng degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering and M. Eng degree in Materials and Chemical Engineering from South China University of Technology. She has 3 first- or co-first-author publications and filed 3 patents. Her current research interests include polymer materials for 3D printing and flexible wearable devices. Outside research, she enjoys traveling, photography and badminton.

Haoran obtained his M.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from HKUST and his B.Eng. degree in Jilin University before joining our group in 2026. He has co-authored 2 peer-reviewed journal papers and applied 1 patent. His research interests include magnetic microfluidics, micro-nano system and 3D printing technology. He is also one of the key member working on the knowledge transfer project related to ceramic 3D printing.

Gao Chuhang is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Mechatronic Engineering at Fuzhou University. He joined the research group as a visiting student in April 2026. He has published 9 papers as the first author or co-author. His research focuses on the development of high-performance medical devices and the application of ceramic materials in interventional therapy. Also, he has a strong passion for academic exploration and interdisciplinary innovation.

Jiahui Long received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Changsha University of Science and Technology, joined the group as a research assistant in December 2025, and is currently an MSc student. Jiahui’s research focuses on high-precision 3D printing, with particular emphasis on light-field compensation and correction, as well as the curing behavior of the corresponding resin systems. This work spans optical fiber-based 3D printing, printing with alumina-filled resins, and magnetic resin printing.
